Shares in Asia were mostly lower in Monday afternoon trade as investors watch for developments on the U.S.-China trade front. Mainland Chinese shares declined by the afternoon, with the Shanghai composite dropping 1.31% and the Shenzhen composite down 1.426%.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index shed 0.86%.
