| China’s Tariff on US Crude Likely to Have Little Impact |

Beijing will impose a 5 percent tariff on U.S. crude oil from September 1st, but Chinese state-owned traders could keep importing at around 150,000 – 200,000 b/d from the U.S. for the rest of the year. Options include potential tariff waivers, storing the oil in bonded tanks, or diverting cargos to other Asian countries.
