A top government adviser and close confidant of Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam has signaled the government may be ready to talk . “The dialogue has to start,” Bernard Chan told The Globe and Mail’s Asia correspondent, Nathan VanderKlippe. The government has for months refused requests to discuss protester demands.
