Police had been searching for the snake since Sunday after it was spotted near Lovell Road. Officers had visited the area and met the reptile's owner, who confirmed the snake was 2.7m (9ft) long. Reticulated pythons are the world's longest snake and are native to southeast Asia. They can grow up to 9.
