Pleasant Grove remains a working-class neighborhood, lined with old strip malls, mom-and-pop restaurants and auto repair shops. It has similar complaints as other districts south of Interstate 30 — crime, loose dogs and crumbling streets — but the aggressive economic development in other areas of Dallas has eluded it.
