The Committee of Seventy has elected Bret S. Perkins board chairman. He will be the good-government group's first African American chair in its 112-year history. Perkins, who is vice president of external and government affairs at Comcast Corp., succeeds Stephen S. Tang, CEO of the University City Science Center.
