In late 2001, Regina received a telephone call. The voice on the other end said they had kidnapped her youngest son, 18-year-old Jackstin Dannard Hunter, then a Miles freshman, and wanted money. "Or we'll kill him," the voice said. "Your emotions range from disbelief to outrage to helplessness," Carr recalls.
