GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- A longtime political leader and Genesee County's first elected black female commissioner has died. Charlotte Williams died Saturday morning at McLaren-Flint, according to her obituary. She was 88. When she was elected in 1965, Williams became the first black woman elected to the board in Genesee County.
