| Police academy: Brockton mayor pledges to resurrect citizens outreach program |

As a way to make local citizens more comfortable with their police department, Mayor Bill Carpenter said on Sunday that he will resurrect the Brockton Citizens Police Academy. Carpenter made the announcement at the 21st annual Martin Luther King Luncheon at Messiah Baptist Church.
