The Warren-Sharpe Community Center earlier this month held a Kwanzaa festival for students in its after-school program. The center has taught the lessons of Kwanzaa to students since at least 1971, when its current director, Kay Bolden, was an 11-year-old student at what was then the Warren YMCA.
