| Spreading cheer — and cookies — on Christmas Day |
|
For the first time since 2005, Christmas Day fell on a Sunday this year an 11-year gap owed in part to three leap years that occurred in the intervening years. The holiday meant many people who otherwise would be working on Sunday got the day off, as many stores and restaurants were closed for Christmas in Topeka.
