| LI Blue Mass celebrates, honors police officers' sacrifice |
|
Police officers and their families and supporters gathered Sunday at a Roman Catholic Mass in New Hyde Park to honor law enforcement, two days after the Bronx killing of an NYPD sergeant from Greenlawn. Known as a “Blue Mass,” the service was a long-standing faith tradition where congregants gather to honor and pray for police officers.
