Former Bishop of Paisley John Mone dies 'peacefully' aged 87 |
Bishop Mone served as a priest in Glasgow before being appointed Bishop of Paisley in 1988. He retired in 2004, with Bishop Philip Tartaglia taking over his position.
He frequently criticised Dungavel Detention Centre, a holding unit for asylum seekers, during his episcopate and his retirement.
