District 3 in northwest Broward covers all of Parkland and most of Coral Springs and Tamarac, plus part of North Lauderdale. The seat was vacated by Stacy Ritter in May, when she shifted to a county job running the tourism bureau. Parkland Mayor Michael Udine, a Democrat and lawyer, is running for the seat.
