By age 15, Sam Day of Beaverton had fought Ewing’s sarcoma for six years more than a third of his life. The rare form of bone cancer took Sam’s left leg below the knee and part of his right foot. As the disease spread to his lungs, filling them with fluid, Sam lost his ability to breathe comfortably.
