REMLAP, Ala. (AP) - Fire has destroyed a more than century-old church in Blount County. Flames engulfed the Valley Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Remlap early Tuesday. Media reports show the 111-year-old sanctuary was gutted, with the wood-frame walls leaning outward and the roof gone.
