In front a crowd of more than 150 people, 18-year-old Brianna Ward gripped a microphone and performed a piece of poetry. It was the story of her Milwaukee neighborhood — "a quiet place, a peaceful place" — and the children there. "I see beauty in their innocence, star studded irises," she said Saturday.
