A Spanish handball player is facing assault charges and a lengthy ban last night after this horrendous attack on a referee in the closing minutes of a match. Eddy Cordoba was savaged by fans after felling Daniel Orts with a punch to the head. The assault happened after the ref red-carded his attacker’s team-mate.
