The lurid narrative was minutely documented during the court case, and then further expanded in Deric Henderson's account of the scandal, Let This Be Our Secret. So I was sceptical. What could this new ITV adaptation, The Secret, based on Henderson's book, possibly have to add? The answer, surprisingly enough, is quite a lot.
