Sam Eshelman, who played two seasons of varsity basketball at Carlsbad High, is returning to his alma mater as head coach of the boys team. Eshelman replaces Mark Sammons, who had a 9-45 record in two seasons leading the Lancers. “I’m going back home,” said Eshelman.
