OREGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man who feared coyotes were threatening his chickens has been fatally shot with his own gun after falling from a tree stand. The Lapeer County sheriff’s office says the accident occurred Monday in Oregon Township. The victim was a 67-year-old man who fell from a tree stand ladder while carrying a loaded shotgun.
