As Christians begin the Lenten Season on Wednesday, clerics have recommended alms giving, fasting and prayers to attract God’s mercy and favour to the country. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that many orthodox Christian denomations all over the world mark Ash Wednesday, signalling the beginning of 40-day Lenten season.
