When I first heard the news about Jews praying in a synagogue on shabbat met with a fury of bullets by a white supremacist yelling, “All Jews must die!,” I thought, is this really true? When I saw the number of gentle souls slaughtered in a house of worship — 11 killed because of who they are — I realized something even more ominous.
