PANAMA CITY, Fla. — A frighteningly powerful Hurricane Michael made landfall on the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday, with the Category 4 storm unleashing a blitz of rain, wind and storm surge that forecasters feared would ravage parts of the South. The storm had maximum sustained winds of 155 miles per hour, and its center reached Mexico Beach, Fla.
