CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX Carolina) - The Carolina Panthers officially have a new owner. On Monday, the organization announced the sale of the franchise to David Tepper, the founder and president of global hedge fund Appaloosa Management, L.P. Tepper signed an agreement to purchase the team on May 16 and the sale was approved by the NFL on May 22.
