Like International Smoke, Mi Almita had its start as a pop-up collaboration at Mina Test Kitchen restaurant incubator in San Francisco. The success of that pop up led to an official announcement that Ortega and Mina will open Mi Almita in the Beverly Center in Los Angeles in 2019.
