The two left the White House inspired—and by November, Cannon and Friend had cofounded a nonprofit in service of the upcoming study. They called it the Minority Coalition for Precision Medicine. It would aim to gather minority scientists and doctors together to educate underrepresented communities about genomics and the government’s study.
