| Methodists call for equal pay for women pastors |
|
The North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church passed a resolution this week that pledges to work toward equal pay for women pastors. There are 308 ministers appointed to churches this year by the conference and 53 are women, about 17 percent. There were 104 ministers whose base pay was $70,000 a year or more, but only four were women.
