An American Christian pastor went on trial in Turkey on Monday on charges of aiding terror groups and spying against Turkey in a case that has raised tensions with Washington. Andrew Craig Brunson, a 50-year-old evangelical pastor from North Carolina, was arrested by Turkish authorities in October 2016 and charged with espionage.
