David Edward Allen, 71, appeared for what was supposed to be a final pre-trial conference in La Porte Superior Court 1 Thursday. However, his public defender, David Jones, informed the judge the state added six new charges on Monday to the six Allen already faced, making Thursday the initial hearing on the amended information.
