Born Jan. 17, 1925, in Heltonville, he was the son of Lawrence and Ona (Speer) Hunter. Robert graduated from Shawswick High School in 1944. He married Bernadine Mitchner on April 12, 1945, and she preceded him in death. They were married 68 years.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II in the Philippines.
