Volunteers laid fir-bough wreaths on veterans’ headstones at Springfield Memorial Gardens on a chilly Saturday morning. Far from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas shopping, the group of military men and women and family members of fallen veterans gingerly walked through the quiet cemetery, placing wreaths on headstones with military markings.
