LOVELAND – Uncle Sam was sitting in the first row during Joe Coll’s first Mass as a deacon at St. Columban Catholic Church in Loveland. It was Fourth of July weekend 1982. He had just received the sacrament of Holy Orders. Seeing a man dressed as Uncle Sam served to calm his nerves.
