Jerry was born on July 21, 1933, in Gardner, Mass., son of the late Homer and Pauline (Cote) Charlonne. He was raised and educated in Jaffrey, and had been a logger working for himself and at Smith-Harriman in Antrim before working for the town of Jaffrey at the “dump,” which later became known as the transfer and recycling center.
