CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bishop Nelson J. Perez, who will lead the Cleveland Catholic Diocese, included several personal touches in his shield that is part of his coat of arms and that he designed for his ordination in 2012. One of the symbols of a bishop is his coat of arms. The sign of a bishop's rank is placed over the shield.
