An effort to produce locally grown food in Westwood is taking root. Several lots in the community are being used to grow vegetables and other items. "Portions of Westwood are in a food desert," said the Rev. Thomas Hargis, a pastor involved with the Jubilee Farms project. "We have been running some pilot projects in Westwood.
