Germany is in the midst of a measles epidemic. By mid-April this year, the country had suffered 504 cases of measles, compared with 33 in the same period a year earlier. It isn’t a trivial infection—measles often causes dehydration and pneumonia and occasionally encephalitis (inflammation of the brain).
