German reports suggest the aircraft had been grounded just 24 hours before it departed Barcelona for Dusseldorf after suffering technical issues including a landing gear problem.

Lufthansa CEO: Crashed plane in perfect condition
Lufthansa chief executive Carsten Spohr said the Germanwings Airbus A320 which crashed in the French Alps yesterday was "in perfect condition". "It is inexplicable," he said when asked if he had further information on the cause of the crash that claimed the lives of 144 passengers and six crew.
