Brendan Grace's family credit Gay Byrne with launching comedian's career in warm tribute
The Dubliner’s broadcasting career on radio and television spanned more than 60 years making him the biggest name in Ireland. His career highs included being the first host of The Late Late Show. The programme became the world’s longest running chat show. Grace succumbed to lung cancer on July 11 last aged 68 .

Legendary broadcaster Gay Byrne dies age 85
Born in 1934, Gay Byrne would go on to forge a legendary career in Irish broadcasting, which touched the lives of millions. Starting out with a 15 minute slot on Radio Eireann, he would go on to work in the UK for both Granada and the BBC, before landing his defining role.

Family and friends celebrate Xolani Gwala's life
While a clip reflecting on his 24-year career in the media was played, his wife, Peggy Sue Khumalo, broke down in tears. A prayer of compassion was said for Gwala, while the family was also comforted with a prayer of strength. Amazing Grace was sung by the congregants to celebrate his life.
