LANSING – Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey said Monday he would not put people at risk by recommending they ignore Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive orders related to the coronavirus, but believes the “No. 1 priority” for Michigan should be a veto-proof citizen’s initiative to repeal 1945 emergency powers under which Whitmer is operating.
