Church orders French paedophile priest Preynat to compensate victims
In a sentence handed down on Thursday but made public two days later, 21 people assaulted by Preynat between 1971 and 1991 are to receive an unspecified amount of compensation. Quoting a spokesman for the diocese, the French press agency AFP said Preynat would be made to compensate his victims himself.

Two new Covid-19 cases in Mayo and one in Roscommon
9 more people with covid-19 died yesterday and there were 59 new cases of the virus in the country. It brings the death toll to 1,651 and the total number of confirmed cases to 24,929. There are two more new cases in Mayo and one new case in Roscommon, bringing their totals to 571 and 321 respectively.
