BOSTON (AP) - A popular longtime Boston-area radio reporter has died. WBZ-AM announced Wednesday that Lana Jones "died suddenly this morning at UMass Medical Center in Worcester." She was 62. The station did not provide a cause of death. Jones had worked at WBZ since 1991 and had been a part of the area's radio news scene since 1981. |

The radio station described Jones as an “outstanding journalist who will be severely missed by her colleagues and friends in the Boston media.” “Lana was the consummate professional who could take a hundred page Supreme Court Decision and boil it down into a concise report for our listeners,” WBZ Program Director Bill Flaherty said in a statement. |
