Limerick crash deaths: ‘Two cars smashed by side of the road’
Three women in their 70s have died following a road traffic collision in Co Limerick. The driver and sole occupant of one of the cars, a woman in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene in Loughill. The driver and passenger of the second car, both women in their 70s, were also pronounced dead at the scene.

Former Army chief tells of 'gun battle' with IRA at Ballymurphy
Retired general Mike Jackson (75) was a captain in the Parachute Regiment on deployment in Belfast at the time 10 civilians were shot in Ballymurphy in August 1971. Mr Jackson was giving evidence to an inquest at Belfast Coroner's Court into the deaths of the civilians, who included a mother of eight and a Catholic priest.

FM radio stations sold by diocese
Two FM radio stations went silent across the Rio Grande Valley on Thursday afternoon — ending a legacy of more than 35 years of public radio with the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville. According to the diocese, stations KJJF 88.9 and KHID 88.1 have been sold and programming was taken off the air Thursday.
