No increase in Covid-19 cases across Connaught Counties

There has been no increase in the number of Covid-19 cases across Connaught Counties. The figures remain unchanged with 570 in Mayo, 481 in Galway, 337 in Roscommon, 129 in Sligo and 83 in Leitrim. A further seven people with Covid 19 died yesterday and there were 28 new confirmed cases.

Washington state mayor calls for 4 officers to be fired

TACOMA, Wash. -- Mayor Victoria Woodards called Friday for all four officers involved in the death of Manuel Ellis, a 33-year-old black man, to be fired, after the county medical examiner ruled his death a homicide in police custody. He died March 3 while in handcuffs, after being restrained by officers on the ground.

Local woman turns 100 today

“Oh, I don’t know. I just don’t think so much about it,” she said, smiling. “I don’t feel bad.” Max said besides battling colon cancer three times, his mother has been in good health. “She never took treatment or pills or anything,” he said of his mother’s cancer. “It’s a long time. I’m only 58, and my body is shot,” he said of her turning 100.
