Christian charity warns of bleak future for Syrian refugees as Covid-19 worsens conditions
CAFOD has warned the coronavirus pandemic has worsened the plight of over 12 million Syrians driven from their homes during more than nine years of conflict. The Catholic humanitarian charity said more than 6 million Syrians are displaced within the country.

A status yellow rainfall alert came into effect from 9am affecting Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. Heavy rain and strong winds are forecast while there is also a risk of of flooding in places. The warning is in place until 9 o'clock on Monday morning.
