Profile. Mike Huckabee served as governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007, following a three-year stint as lieutenant governor. He had an unsuccessful bid for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008. Prior to his political career, he was a pastor and worked in broadcasting.
